The Meeting Place Lanterns, fire choreography, large-scale puppets, music, choirs, projections featuring the Light'nUp lantern The project acknowledges the significance of the local Ainawan name for the town site of Uralla, which means 'ceremonial meeting place'. Uralla Arts creates an outdoor theatre, sound and light show exploring the theme of 'finding the way'. Local visual artists, choirs, musicians and children will be supported by the technical and artistic expertise of visiting artists. Projections by TAFE studenta will comprise mixed media which will form a back drop to a Commedia-dell-Arte inspired outdoor theatre performance with large-scale puppetry and live actors, soundscapes, spoken word and both live and recorded original music Lantern parade musters at 6.30pm Please bring a blanket to sit on and, although we have ordered a fine warm evening, please be prepared in case of cool conditions or a light shower. email: admin@uralla-arts.com THE MEETING PLACE is made possible with the assistance of Festivals Australia |
